'If you missed Rhenda Fearrington at The Philadelphia Museum of Art (8/2011) as the featured musical guest in the Art After 5, Live Music Performance Series in The Great Hall, you missed the incredible opportunity to see the amazing debut of one of Philadelphia's most precious and under recognized jazz jewels. Museum guests were treated to an unexpected and superbly fulfilling musical feast. Rhenda Fearrington sang symbiotically with the Three Blind Mice, a soulful, hard swinging Philadelphia organ trio. Any musician who has played there knows it's one of, if not the most, difficult venues to play, sound wise in the city. This was no challenge for Rhenda and her group. She was able to channel the souls of many of the truly original great artists; among them Ella Fitzgerald, Phoebe Snow, Roberta Flack, and Carmen McRae, to name a few. Naturally and seemingly effortless Miss Fearrington grooved through the gamut of emotional musical dimensions with her musicians and taking the entire audience fully entranced along with her...
