Play Dirty's Already Robots is a fusion of styles spanning rock-influenced varieties. From start to finish aggressive tones familiarize you with the rock-oriented sound of the past twenty years then go elsewhere, into a space where genres begin to blur. In one moment you're in the lingering sustain of distorted notes and crashing drums, then bobbing to a syncopated groove. To put it bluntly, the album rocks, but anticipates any monotony with original funk breaks, occasional strings, african rhythms and horn riffs. It doesn't matter where you'll end up because you've already taken off on the voyage. The bass is thoroughly funkified, the beats are steadfast and the guitars are soaked in some kind of blues-like alchemy of reverberating surf and tube-driven crunch.
