The EP 'Follow me Down' was conceived in the early winter of 2011 by David Clarke, the artist behind the music of Perl Lake. David had finished his self produced Perl Lake EP 'Perle du Lac' in 2009 and was working on his live cover show in 2010 when he became interested in music from internet radio. It was the Lush Station at SomaFM that he found most interesting . The fusion of electronica and female vocals seemed so natural that he began creating music in the same style but with a Perl Lake sound. What was missing was a singer. It was at church, when David first heard Stacey sing when she performed 'Ave Maria'. Dave was so impressed with her vocals that he asked if she would sing on a new Perl Lake project. She agreed and after 8 months, 'Follow me Down' was completed. The music has all the elements of Electronica but introduces breaks and changes classic of Perl Lake music. The middle verse of the song Desert Lights is completely different from from the first and last. The song 'Never the Same' like it's name, continually changes and suddenly become a Jazz number, with a stand up bass and a brass section. The title song 'Follow me Down' can only be described as a psychedelic goth girl's anthem and the final song 'Starlights Revenge (sniper song) is a tale of starlight, night scopes and snipers, all to a bossanova beat. With Stacey's Smooth vocals on top of Indie Pop infused Electronica, Follow me Down is a great collection of 5 songs that's perfect for all Perl Lake and Electronica fans.
