Out and About is a fresh and exciting musical adventure...a unique and diverse collection of contemporary songs. From art song to Broadway and classical cabaret, these works range from delightfully humorous culinary tales and passionate, sentimental loe songs to the dark ambiance of temptation and seduction. Together Lesley Pryde and Pianist Laura Leon blend a sparkling technique, dynamic theatricality and a wonderful sense of humor into these musical vignettes. Highlights are William Bolcom's Song of Black Max (as told by the DeKooning Boys), his deliciously hysterical Lime Jello, Marshmallow, Cottage Cheese Surprise, Cole Porter's The Tale of The Oyster, and Stephen Schwartz's gem With You from the beloved Broadway show Pippin for which he composed the score.
