Minnesota winters are fierce. Surviving the hardships of winter in Minnesota requires resilience and toughness. It helps to have a diversion, and the Minnesotan love of hockey brings comfort and purpose to it's frozen communities. As a result, Minnesota has created more skaters and NHL players than any other state in the union. Two high school hockey teams, Eveleth and Hermantown, are followed through the 2019-2020 hockey season in a true Midwest story. Rival players deal with everyday teenage troubles as they brave the travails of Minnesota winter to skate for hockey glory.
