"Elliot Schneider's gold lame shirt and spandex pants, his Jagger moves and Elvis Costello delivery...and his Bob Dylan nose make it impossible to classify him, categorize him, deny, defy or crucify him. Everything about him invites skepticism; you know right off he's either a total flake or a total genius." Cary Tennis (now Salon.com's renowned columnist) --SF WEEKLY 'Definitely unique--the enigmatic Elliot Schneider is the multi-talented King of Unrestrained Extravaganza! He's a Californian Rock Icon; nothing but rock god status for Elliot now!!!' --RockTrish, DJ at DCR 97.4 FM Radio in Dunoon, Scotland "Elliot Schneider is a lot of different things... Great!...Elliot Schneider and company mine pop and rock history for gems which they rework into modern day pearls...' -- Michael Goldner SF WEEKLY "Elliot Schneider is an exuberant, larger than life, multi-talented rock musician from San Francisco. His song, 'If Looks Could Kill, I'd Wear Mirror Sunglasses' has become the soundtrack to my life-I can't get the tune out of my head!" --Sara Torbet, DJ at DCR 97.4 FM Radio in Dunoon, Scotland Elliot Schneider was the 3rd band in history to debut at CBGB on a Saturday night. His previous album "Surreal Survivor" was No.1 on Amazon's Hot New Releases mp3 chart in Rock/Oldies & Retro. In the summer of 1969 when men first foot on the moon, I met Les Paul in Chicago. I was visiting the daughter of his former drummer Tommy Rinaldo. Mr. Paul was both warm and sardonic. He invited me to travel back to New York with him, "Ten Years After" and Dusty Springfield. Strangely enough, I said, "thanks, but I can't," and so he gave me his card and invited me to his home in Mahwah, New Jersey. I played for him at his home in March of 1970 and he wanted to produce my song, "The First Day Of Summer." Being young and stupid, I never took advantage of that opportunity. Hey, it was the Sixties... This album is divided into two parts. Part One is composed of twelve songs I recorded in the Twenty-First Century. Part Two (six songs, Remastered Bonus Material) represents my music from the Twentieth Century. ("Higher Than Fire" was never previously released; a lost tape from 1979 resurfaced only a few months ago.) If not for my beloved Carmen Castro, who is also my keyboard player, this album would not exist at all. And I also want to thank Brad Barth who I consider my own personal George Martin. Although I am the producer of my own records, Brad's genius is as essential to my vision as George Martin's was to the Beatles. Two of the songs (songs 9 & 11) Brad co-produced with me; for all the rest I take full blame. Special Thanks to Mark Newstetter; vocally, he's the Paul to my John.
