Born in the beautiful and serene countryside of Maryland in 1949. Played an old piano in a farmhouse as a kid. Put together and played drums in a big R&B showband in Baltimore in the sixties. Joined the Air Force, went to Germany, started playing the piano again, then went to Berklee, then NYC, then Raleigh/Durham, and now Miami. Has worked as pianist, composer, arranger, producer and teacher, and actually fed himself by it for nearly thirty years. Loves playing in a jazz trio or funky band, as well as behind interesting singers...even solo. Currently working with Russian jazz singer Anna Nikolaeva, Latin singer/songwriter Elizabeth Ayoub and guitarist/composer/producer Steve Loveless. Bill's first CD, 'A Little Romance,' is a dozen solo piano pieces, mostly originals, that are sort of jazz-influenced preludes. The overall mood is both dreamy and intense. 'Out The Box,' except for a little bit of his renowned solo piano balladeering, is a very different adventure. Joined by some of the East Coast's best jazz players, you'll hear Bill journey into some way interesting musical neighborhoods.
