Hope. One word envelops the very essence of singer-songwriter AR Base. Soulfully intertwining Gospel, R&B, Hip-Hop, and Worship, this man is on a medical mission to inject his music with the healing word of God, into a dark and hurting world.  Appealing across racial, cultural, and socio-economic statuses, audiences from around the world are being drawn to Base's poignant harmonies, captivating melodies, and thirst quenching messages of hope for real life's issues. "My message to people," he elaborates, "is to not give up on God, not give up on you, not give up on anything or anyone that God wants you to hold on to." AR Base, originally named for his deep, bass like voice, once despised and almost gave up on the very vocal instrument that he now sees has become his gift and strength.  To him, his name is now a reminder that God can take base things in your life, and make them work together for good.   Writing songs since the age of seven, AR Base still remembers how his gift first began by writing catchy melodies to memorize facts for school.  "I didn't realize it was a talent, but God kept on calling and pushing me to my destiny," he recollects.  AR's call to ministry began at the early age of fifteen, when he worked as an evangelist boldly preaching sermons whenever he got a chance, even on public buses.  Eventually, he began a church and was leading a full time ministry for several years thereafter.  It was from these humble beginnings, that AR Base was able to gain experience as a praise and worship leader, eventually leading him to noteworthy appearances singing at major churches, radio stations, and was featured on television shows such as "The Dream." Among his accolades, was having the honor of singing behind Gospel giants such as Patty LaBelle, Marvin Winans, Beverly Crawford, and Shirley Cesar.   Having released his latest album, Change My Heart, AR Base's music now plays on over fifty radio stations nationwide.  His life-giving messages of victory, faith, and hope in God breathe a fresh new perspective into this collection of inspirational songs. From the prayerful melody, "I Need a Miracle Now," which gives voice to cries for breakthrough, to the banging beats of a hip-hop anthem entitled, "Warrior," calling all soldiers to put on the armor of the Lord, AR Base's lyrical content and musical diversity cuts through to both mind and spirit.  Drawing upon his own pains, and the experiences of others, his songs reach out to restore faith to the hearts of people with everyday issues. In the song, "Tomorrow Will Be Better," AR's personal faith shines through. He recalls a day when everything imaginable seemed to go wrong. "I was having a really bad day...I got a ticket, lost my job, and had a family member sick with a serious ailment. I remember feeling so down that day, so I went home and prayed about it." AR Base illuminates that the painful experiences he deals with in life become someone else's victory through his music. It was from this pain, that the song was originally birthed and boldly declares, "Tomorrow will be better, 'cause he has promised it will be, I feel today's my day, God will make a way, My future will be brighter..." Looking ahead, AR Base's future does look brighter, as he hopes to continue spreading the word through his music and ministry. "I intend to bring people's hearts back to God, and reach people all over the world by cutting across cultures and breaking down barriers," he explains. With a new album on the way, AR's commitment to awakening hope in God is relentless. "I write my songs for everyone. The downtrodden, people who have fallen or given up. I want them to succeed in every area of their lives, so they can lay aside the weights that are holding them back and run the race before them."
